Hi there Beautiful Human,

I’m Violeta!

I’m a Clinical Social Worker and Trauma Therapist with a research & holistic health background. I’m the type of therapist who knows the value of insisting on your dignity.

I enjoy supporting individuals explore the root causes of intergenerational trauma, healing for themselves and the lives they touch thereafter. Because of my approach to this work, I maintain a limited caseload to maximize my ability to be my best self when supporting you while offering unique, individualized care.

Four diverse people sitting in a circle during a discussion, with one person speaking and using hand gestures.

I work with people navigating the effects of racism
—both systemic and personal—while also facing the ordinary, messy experiences that come with being human.

In therapy, we make space for both the pain of trauma and the practice of self-care.

My clients are often individuals who care for others . . . think healthcare workers, other therapists, healing practitioners and facilitators, attorneys, parents/ people in parent roles, or caregivers.

Empathetic human beings need someone to lean on, too.

In therapy, I’ll help you to . . .

  • Explore soul wounds and injuries to the ‘self’ that occurred as a result of traumatic experiences; power, control, and violation; and systems of harm.

  • Remember that your body is trustworthy by helping you foster a sense of safety/ feeling ‘safe enough’ to face the hard stuff.

  • Learn how trauma shapes your brain and body. This often leads to greater self-compassion regarding why it’s so hard to work through the muck of healing from hurt or disregard.

  • Release trauma stuck in the nervous system and become more aware of the internal resources, inner wisdom, and capacity for healing that you already have.

  • Adaptively integrate your experiences so that you can become more responsive instead of reactive in moments and/ or periods of dis/stress.

Modality: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - helps you to get unstuck from intense feelings and emotions. It is a comprehensive approach that activates the brains natural ability to heal through neuroplasticity. As a result, painful memories and experiences that unconsciously influence clients' lives are brought to resolution or closer to manageable resolution. We examine the relationship between adult experiences and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This modality relies on weekly therapy appointments.

Modality: Holistic Therapy - helps you have “aha moments” that yield greater insight and greater somatic awareness of your and your body’s emotional needs. Through a blend of talk therapy and somatic therapy, we improve your symptoms through weekly or biweekly appointments.
